Here is the reality of crowd-funding on sites like Kickstarter: In any given month there are over 6,000 projects trying to raise money. Only 40% of them will ever hit their goal. The majority of projects that fail won’t even reach 20% funded.
If you want to:
- Structure your project so that it has a better chance of succeeding
- Brainstorm rewards that aren’t lame
- Figure out your crowd-funding story
- Come up with a strategy for publicizing your project
…then I can give you solid advise based on real world experience. Not only am I the author of a Kickstarter’s Guide to Kickstarter, but I’ve personally run 5 Crowd-funding campaigns from start to finish, been hired as a consultant, and advised over 20 projects.
We hired Nelson to help us develop a crowd-funding campaign. Over the course of the project he worked with us to define the strategy, write the web copy, structure rewards, and produce the video. He was able to combine our ideas with his expertise in the field and delivered a campaign that exceeded our expectations.
